More accurate portrayal...

In the interest of "keepin it real" on the blog, I thought I'd post some of the pictures preceding the cute one where the girls are sweetly laughing at one another. Here we go...

Gotta love this one...

And, there it is. Never a dull moment!!

Julia's 6 months!

So Julia is past the 6 month mark. It's hard to believe! She weighs 18lbs 2oz - so again 90%-ile. She is such a happy baby and is content to watch all the action around her. She definitely now thinks Mae is hilarious. I can already see moments where they really seem to be playing together and loving each other. Praying for a close relationship as they get older too! Here they are laughing at each other.

And a good one of Julia smiling. She's sitting up now and has SIX teeth...not sure if you can see them here or not.

We just went to Rosemary Beach with my family a couple weeks ago. I'll post a longer post about that soon. So fun!

Ahhh, finally!

We finally have some nice weather in Dallas! We had 68 days over 100 this summer...and we were here for every one of them. But, the past few days have been wonderful. We were outside the entire morning and even had a picnic lunch in the front yard! Hope this lasts!

Life these days

It's been non-stop action around here these days. Mae is loving Julia, her captive audience, and Julia seems amused by her antics.

Julia is getting bigger and smiling and laughing more and more. She weighed in at 15 lbs 6 oz at 4 months. 90th percentile. She's 24 1/4 inches long. 50th percentile. So we're doing pretty well on that front! She also started sleeping from 8-7 with a 10:30 feed before I head to bed. Life's much more manageable with this sleep schedule!

Julia also has TWO teeth. The bottom tooth broke through last weekend. Can't believe it since she's only 4 months- but it explains the near constant drooling.

She got baptized last weekend. It was a special day since it was also Jason's and my 7th anniversary. My parents and brother were here as well as Jason's mom. Here's the only picture I have now. My mom has yet to send me the ones she took. Promise she was happier at the actual event...

Here are some pics of what's been going on lately. Some are kind of old but I haven't posted hardly any of her!

She did not want to stop to pose for this picture...which is why she looks upset. She would have stayed in the pool ALL day had we let her. This was at the beginning of the summer-- before our 35 day 100+ degree heat wave.

First day of preschool with her beloved nap mat.

Oh, we've also potty trained Mae since she started showing interest so I figured I better jump on that. She's really done well and it's nice only having one in diapers. Thought this was a pretty hilarious picture. She'll probably kill me one day for posting it...

Julia's here!

Julia Lee Dallas arrived Tuesday, March 22nd weighing 8 lbs 3 oz. She has been unbelievably sweet and so easy this far! She sleeps pretty much all the time so I know it won't be this calm for long. We're so glad she's here and are having a great time together!

Mae is doing well too and tries to give her raisins and juice and wants to hold her bottle to feed her. She sings to her and pats her saying "it's otay" whenever she cries. Hopefully that will last.

Workin' it!

So we asked Mae to go sit in her chair to eat her popsicle...and she immediately got in this pose and flashed a big smile at us! Adorable now but not so sure how those teenage years are going to go...

Birthdays and Other Happenings

Mae turned 2 a couple weeks ago and, man, did she love her birthday! She was anticipating it for weeks telling everyone she met that "Mae's birthday comin' up!" I'm so glad it lived it up to all the hype...really, all she wanted was a cupcake and balloons though. Know that won't last forever. Since then she still asks us, "Mae's birthday coming up?" then quickly answers herself, "No, Mae birthday over." It's pretty funny. She's now onto Daddy's birthday "comin' up" which is still a couple months away.

Here she is on her birthday morning with her new Mickey and Daisy (we already had Minnie), and new Pinkalicious sticker book. Happy girl.

A cupcake on the night of her birthday. She kept wanting us to re-light the candles, sing Happy Birthday and blow them out. Really taking in the whole experience...

You think she likes it?

And, then it was my 30th birthday a week later! We had a little fiesta with some friends and I was even seranaded...and given a sombrero. Would have been nice to have had a couple margaritas but that was kind of frowned upon being 7 months pregnant... It was such a fun birthday though!!
Houston's lunch on my birthday...we even braved the ice and snow to make it there. Totally worth it. Not sure if Mae was just happy to be out of the house or to have french fries for lunch.

Just thought this was a cute pic. We have been in a supper club for about 4 years, I think. We started as just married couples and now there are 6 kids and 2 more on the way. We had all the kids come to the last dinner and actually got a pretty cute pic. So sweet!

As I'm sure you know, we've had quite a bit of snow and ice in Dallas lately. We were homebound for several days and thankfully had lots of new birthday toys to keep us occupied. Mae is loving her new blocks!

Lots of snuggling on snow days...with daddy...
...and Tex.

We hosted lots of tea parties with our "friends".

And playing in the snow with the Edwards and Gus. She loved it but we had to cut it short when Tex cut his foot on something running around in the snow, and Jason had to rush him to the vet to get staples in his foot. Always something! We love getting a good snow every year though....just ready for the warm temps now!
